We see too many people who have commenced building works without any contract, or using the builders wholly inappropriate contract, without a firm price for the works and without a clear understanding of who is to deal with the formalities of Building Control etc

Unfortunately building disputes are often complicated and expensive to resolve which is why it is essential to start your project on the basis of a clear understanding with the builder so that the possibilities of misunderstandings as to responsibilities, payments etc are reduced

It is not possible to remove all the risk from building projects, however, we believe that had they spoken to a Construction Solicitor before they started their projects many of the people we speak to could have avoided or at least reduced many of the problems that we are asked to advise on.

Although based in the North West of England we have clients throughout England and Wales and with modern technology are able to offer services via zoom and email. We can of course attend clients in person if such attendance is necessary.
